Between the 8th and 10th of September, DHPol presented the findings of two recent PROCACTIVE studies at the online ESC Annual Conference 2021. Under the title “Preparedness for and response to CBRNe terrorist attacks – commonalities and differences between European countries“, the current CBRNe management of first responders was compared to the identified needs of the vulnerable civil society represented by civil society organisations. DHPol further discussed similarities and differences in the CBRNe management of different European countries and introduced relevant recommendations. Due to the broad topic of CBRNe management, DHPol primarily focused on the topic communication during the session. The presentation was part of a pre-arranged thematic panel session called “forms and manifestations of extremism“. Of the expected 850 conference attendees, thirty interested experts from different disciplines of criminology and crime prevention took further part in this discussion session.
